This study examines the protection of civil rights in electronic transactions under Indonesia's Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE), focusing on implementation challenges and regulatory gaps in the digital era. Key issues include legal uncertainty regarding the validity of digital contracts, personal data protection, and the liability of marketplace platforms. The research aims to analyze the effectiveness of UU ITE in safeguarding consumer and business rights, as well as identifying the need for harmonization with the Civil Code (KUH Perdata). A normative juridical method with descriptive-analytical approach was employed, utilizing primary data (regulations) and secondary data (court decisions, institutional reports). Findings reveal that UU ITE has not fully addressed the complexities of electronic transactions, particularly in cases of data breaches and unfair standard clauses. The study concludes that progressive revisions to UU ITE, strengthened digital dispute resolution mechanisms, and improved legal literacy are essential. The research highlights the urgency for adaptive regulations to accommodate emerging technologies such as smart contracts and blockchain.
