Social media has played a significant role in the transformation of the political system in Indonesia. With the development of information and communication technology, social media has provided a platform for people to participate in the political process more actively. Through social media, political information can be disseminated quickly and widely, enabling dialogue between leaders and the people, as well as facilitating political movements from various groups in society. However, the role of social media in transforming the political system also raises new challenges. Misinformation and hoaxes can easily spread through social media, ensuring the integrity of political information and influencing public perception. Apart from that, political polarization can also occur due to filter bubbles on social media, where individuals tend to be exposed to broadcasts that are in line with their own beliefs. In the Indonesian context, studying the role of social media in the transformation of the political system is important to understand its impact on political dynamics in this country.
