Abstract

The Health Forest, which is classified as a vulnerable conservation status by IUCN, possesses unique and specific plant species with potential medicinal properties. The study aims to identify the various plant species in the health forest at different elevations, to provide information to the community for conservation and restoration efforts of the forest, which has suffered from degradation. Vegetation data was collected using the cruise method which was carried out by tracing the research path with anti-mosquito patterns, and observing all the plants as far as 10 m to the left and right from the starting point where the health forest ecosystem was found to the end. research conducted in Gunong Tajam (510 masl), Gunong Kubing (325 masl), Gunong Lumut (175 masl), and Aik Sambar Lilangan (33 masl). A total of 97 plant species from 51 families are identified in all study locations. Gunong Tajam has 42 species, Gunong Kubing has 33 species, Gunong Lumut has 41 species, and Aik Sambar has 64 species. Some of the identified plant species include Gelam (Malaleuca cajuputi), Kelebantuian (Syzygium racemosum), Lulai (Garcinia havilandii), Keramunting (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa), Sapu-sapu (Baeckea frutescent), Perai laki (Vaccinum bancanum), Betor padi (Calophyllum pulcherimum), Sekuncong (Leptospermum javanicum), Ketakong (Nepenthes reindwartiana), Gerunggang (Cratoxylon glaucum), and Sekudong pelandok (Syzygium bankense). Of these species, 11, 3, 2, and 31 are only found in Gunong Tajam, Gunong Kubing, Gunong Lumut, and Aik Sambar, respectively.
